Dr Spencer Burke

Dr Burke qualified as a Specialist Anaesthetist in 1996 at UCT and Groote Schuur. He has worked as an Anaesthetist around the world, but particularly in London, England and Vancouver, British Columbia. He is married to Jenny and has 3 adult children. He has been working in private practice in Cape Town with Cape Anaesthetics Inc. for 26 years.
He is registered with the South African Society of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Anaesthetists and the UK General Medical Council Specialist Register.
Special interests include Orthopaedic Bone Cancer Reconstructive Surgery, Intensive Care, Cosmetic flaps and reconstructive surgeries as well as BARIATRIC surgery. He is part of the Lifehealthcare Chrysalis Clinic specialising in obesity surgeries. Part of the non profit Operation Smile surgical team which travels to various rural areas to assist in the repair of children born with Cleft-lip and cleft palate. Outside of work enjoys travel with the family, regular exercise in the form of tennis , padel tennis, mountain hikes and birding.
