Dr Michelle Casey

Michelle qualified as an anaesthetist from the University of Cape Town’s Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine in 2013. During her training she was the recipient of awards for intensive care, paediatric anaesthesia and cardiothoracic anaesthesia. In 2016 she joined Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Pain Control Service in London for three months. In 2017 she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Pain Management through the University of Cape Town. Michelle has previously served on the PainSA Council and as secretary of the PaedsPainSA Special Interest Group. She worked as a consultant anaesthetist for nine years, before joining Cape Anaesthetics in 2022.
