Dr Laura Jessica Kempe

I underwent my undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town and qualified in 2010 with my MBChB. I completed my Fellowship in Anaesthesia and Peri-operative Medicine at Groote Schuur Hospital in 2020 and my Masters in Medicine through the University of Cape Town. I have a keen interest in paediatric anaesthesia and work at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital fortnightly. I spent two years as a a sessional member of the theatre team at Paarl Provincial Hospital where I helped oversee junior doctors and experienced diploma anaesthetists. I joined Cape Anaesthetics private practice full time in 2024.

When I’m not working, I’m ideally running some of the most beautiful trails in the Western Cape or trying a new culinary experience. I love being creative which manifests in making ravioli and recently dabbling in origami folding.
